Robert Koch was born on lineage 11, 1843, at Clausthal in the Harz Mountains. He surprised his parents when he showed his parents that he taught himself to read at the age of five. He exceled through pop out high gear school and showed a liking to biology. In 1862 Koch went to the University of Göttingen to shoot the breeze over medicine. He studied anatomy under Jacob Henle, who evidently influenced his scheme that was published in 1840 that infectious diseases were caused by living, bloodsucking organisms.
